Human Rights Education mapping exercise within the framework of the international project “Networking for Erasmus+ National Agencies to mainstream Human Rights Education in the field of youth” in Latvia

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Agency for International Programs for Youth of Latvia involved Dynamic University Ltd. with the aim of conducting a study on the human rights education resources available to young people in Latvia within the framework of the international project "Networking for Erasmus + National Agencies to mainstream Human Rights Education in the field of youth". The study was carried out during May 2017^th.

PROJECT SOLUTIONS AND RESULTS

Within the framework of the study, an in-depth analysis was carried out. It looked at the availability of the resource to young people and youth workers in the field of human rights education in Latvia – informative and educational materials, training courses and programs, events and organizations involved

In order to gather the necessary information, the following tasks were carried out:

analysis of secondary sources;
telephone interviews with human rights education specialists from state institutions and non-governmental organizations;
electronic communication with professionals involved in human rights education;
focus group discussion involving trainers, youth workers and creators of human rights education resources.

As a result of the study information on both the existing supply of resources and the needs of youth and youth workers was gathered.
